    Description

    Quantum of Solace (MGM, 2008). Very Fine+. Prop Quantum Earpiece in Original Box (3.25" X 3.25" X 1.5"), Tosca Opera Program (32 Pages, 7.25" X 9.75"), & Tosca Opera Bags (2) (3.25" X 5.25" X 1.5" & 10" X 8" X 4").
In a direct sequel to Casino Royale, Daniel Craig returned to the role of James Bond in 2008's Quantum of Solace. The film sees Bond out to avenge the death of Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), with his pursuit leading him to Dominic Greene (Mathieu Amalric) and the criminal organization Quantum. Bond follows Greene to a performance of the opera Tosca where members of Quantum are secretly meeting using sophisticated earpieces. Offered here for the first time at Heritage is one of the Quantum earpieces, one of which can be clearly seen in the film after Bond steals it from a Quantum member while attending the Tosca opera. The earpiece comes in a padded Arthur Price box modified for the film with Quantum's "Q" logo on top. The Tosca opera scene in the movie was filmed at The Bregenz Opera House (named Seebühne) in Bregenz, Austria during April and May of 2008, and included in this lot is a program from a series of performances of Tosca that took place at The Bregenz Opera House during the yearly Bregenzer Festspiele (Bregenz Festival) in 2008. The festival began in July of that year, just over two months after filming for Quantum of Solace wrapped at that location. Inside the program is information on the opera written mostly in German with some English, as well as black and white images of the production of the opera, some of which show images recognizable from Bond's visit during the film. The final two items in this lot are two paper bags from the opera with the Tosca title printed on them. The earpiece itself is in excellent condition, and the box it comes in has slight scuffs and smudges on the top and sides, as well as faint stains on the bottom. The program has minor scuffs and surface indentations, and the interior pages show almost no wear. The bags have light scuffs, smudges, and creases.
