    Description

    James Bond - Birds of the West Indies & Others Lot (1966-2013). Hardcover Books (3) (Multiple Pages, 8" X 11.5", 5.5" X 8", & 4.75" X 7.5"). James Bond.
A lifelong admirer of birds, Ian Fleming stumbled upon the name of his world famous character on a trip to Jamaica in the form of a ornithological guide titled Birds of the West Indies by the plainly-named author James Bond. The titles featured in this lot center around this story, with the parody book Birds of the West Indies by Tarryn Simon (which highlights the famous women, weapons, and vehicles of the franchise), How 007 Got His Name by Mary Wickham Bond (Mrs. Bond), and Birds of the Caribbean, a special edition of the original Birds of the West Indies by James Bond. Unrestored books with bright color and clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as edge and spine wear, corner bends, surface scuffs, unobtrusive smudges, or minor tears. How 007 Got his Name displays the majority of these issues, as well as paper loss and tears in the interior and exterior dust jacket, stains and smudging, unobtrusive writing, and some mild surface rippling. Some pages are intentionally blank with no photograph, which represents the actresses who did not participate in the project. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Artwork for How James Bond Got His Name by Barbosa. Overall Grade: Very Fine.
