    Description

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Bryanston, 1974). Autographed Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14").
This breakthrough film has been declared a masterpiece of modern horror and has been enshrined in the Museum of Modern Art, but that kind of critical acclaim was not heard when the picture was first released. In 1974, the film was a complete assault on the senses, startling audiences with images and sounds that were so horrific, that many were forced to flee the theatre. It has been imitated, remade, had sequels and prequels created and nothing comes close to the sheer terror of the original. This is the original set of lobby cards issued by Bryanston Pictures--the films original distributor before it went to New Line in 1980. The set is extremely scarce and rarely turns up intact. But what makes this lot so extraordinary is that Leatherface himself, Gunnar Hansen, has signed his "portrait" card #7. Near Mint.
