The Raven (Universal, 1935). Lobby Card (11" X 14").
Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi were the kings of Universal horror films when they were cast in this adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's poem, The Raven. And although the storyline borrowed nothing from the poem except its title, the film was loaded with all sorts of depravity that would have made Poe proud and the film censors squeamish. This lovely and original card features Boris Karloff choking Lester Matthews. The card has tape on the borders of the cards's verso and one piece on the verso supporting a puncture in the upper center of the card. There is soiling and staining on the borders and within the image and a slight bit of surface paper loss in the upper border just into the border artwork and in the upper right corner border. Heritage has offered a similar card only once before and this card is a new market find with colors are as fresh as the day the card was printed. Fine-.
