    The Mummy (Universal, 1932). Very Fine+ on Linen. Pre-War Belgian (24.5" X 33.5").
Similar in design to the equally gorgeous American one sheet, this stone litho beauty is the only remaining Belgian from this Karloff classic. Hot on the heels of his phenomenal success in Frankenstein, Boris Karloff again made movie history in his second starring role, this time playing an Egyptian priest resurrected from his eternal slumber. His performance would prove to be yet another boon for Universal's burgeoning horror genre, spawning a myriad of sequels, remakes, and crossover appearances for decades to come. Although it may lack the studio's distributor logo, we at Heritage can confidently say that this magnificent Belgian comes from Universal's original European distribution, due to the mention of Max Bosman above the title. Bosman had long been in charge of the publicity department at Universal's Dutch office, officially starting as their PR Manager in 1927. No doubt, he played an active role in advertising films to the south of Holland's border in neighboring Belgium, making this poster an authentic part of Universal's 1933 release. Already well preserved, this one of a kind piece has had skillful restoration to extremely minor fold wear, a couple of pinholes in the corners, and two tiny tears in the right border. The top border had two small mirrored tears at the edge, and there is touchup applied to a sliver of paper loss at the upper left corner and border. As scarce as scarce can be, collectors should jump at the chance to own such an incredible piece as this!
