    Description

The Invisible Ray (Universal, 1935). French Affiche (23.5" X 31.5").
In this Universal sci-fi/horror classic, we are treated to fantastic performances by both Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi in the last of their three Universal pairings in the mid-1930s. This atmospheric picture features Karloff as Dr. Janos Rukh, who invents a powerful ray he intends to use for the benefit of mankind. He unlocks the power to view the past and discovers a massive meteor that hit Earth thousands of years ago. Rukh - along with fellow scientist Dr. Benet (Bela Lugosi) - travels to Africa to find the crash site, and discovers a powerful new element - Radium X. Exposure to the substance slowly turns Rukh mad, in addition to giving him a killing touch, sending him on a killing spree that comes to a tragic conclusion. Sold by Heritage for the first time, this French stone litho poster has had professional restoration to address fold wear, pinholes in the borders, and chips and tears in the borders. Some of the tears extend into the image area, and there are small chips in Francis Drake's shoulder and Boris Karloff's chin. Fine+ on Linen.
