Description

The Invisible Man (Universal, 1933). Window Card (14" X 22").
After monumental success with horror giants The Phantom of the Opera (1925), Frankenstein (1931), and Dracula (1931), Universal turned to another classic tale-- H.G. Wells' The Invisible Man, which was turned into another hit by master director James Whale. It launched Claude Rains' career, and co-stars Gloria Stuart, with appearances by Dwight Frye, Walter Brennan, and John Carradine. Rains is superb as the doctor whose ability to become invisible has the terrifying side effect of slowly making him mad. This seminal film would spawn several sequels and imitations, but paper from the original film is always highly sought. The window card format from one of the best Universal horror classics is a top find for collectors. There are staple and tack holes in the borders that have been reinforced with tape on the verso, small tears in the borders with tape on the verso, and very minor surface scratches. Fine/Very Fine.
