    Description

    Photon (Mark Frank, 1963 - 1977). Overall: Fine/Very Fine. Fan Magazines (20) (Multiple Pages, 8.5" X 11"). Horror.
In 1963, avid film fan Mark Frank started his own magazine dedicated to the horror, sci-fi, and fantasy movies he loved. The result was Photon, a fan magazine that continued to grow in popularity and distribution until its twenty-seventh and final issue in 1977. Offered here are 20 issues of the classic fanzine including issue numbers 1 - 9, 12, 15, 17, and 20 - 27. Unrestored magazines with clean overall appearances. They may have general signs of use, such as slight edge and spine wear, moderate creases, minute tears, scuffs, subtle toning, smudges, or stains. Issue 9 has noticeable staining on many of its pages along with tears and paper remnants on the back cover and last interior page. Issue 26 has some graphite writing on the front cover. A few of the issues contain vintage silver gelatin, single weight, glossy or matte finish reproduction photos as bonuses or attached to pages as part of the articles. Issues 20, 23, and 25 have 8" X 10" reproduction photos from White Zombie (1932), Freaks (1932), and Island of Lost Souls (1932) respectively, and earlier issues have 3.5" X 5" reproduction photos of various films including The Wolf Man (1941), Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (1920), Frankenstein (1931), London After Midnight (1927), Godzilla (1954), King Kong (1933), and more. A few issues (including the first issue) are missing some of their photos. Due to the size/weight of this lot, shipping costs may be higher than usual.
