    Description

King Kong (RKO, 1933). Swedish Oversized Poster (25.5" X 47").
This Swedish beauty features the "The Eighth Wonder of the World" raging through New York, swatting down planes and clutching the delicate Fay Wray. Considered by most as one of the greatest horror/fantasy films ever made, King Kong was certainly one of the most innovative. The stop motion animation created by Willis O'Brien set the standard for decades to follow. Starring Wray as Ann Darrow, Robert Armstrong as Carl Denham, and Bruce Cabot as Jack Driscoll, the non-stop action thrilled audiences upon its initial release in 1933, and still continues to entertain today. This rare oversized, stone litho Swedish poster, reminiscent of the U.S. three sheet with its striking image of Kong atop the Empire State Building, is unbacked and displays brilliant color. Signs of light handling include edge wear towards the bottom, a few small border tears, pinholes in borders and interior, and horizontal creasing to the left side. There is a tear slightly into the left background with cellophane tape on the verso and a small chip with a corner bend in the bottom right corner. An amazing opportunity for poster collectors! From the Kirk Hammett Collection. Folded, Very Fine-.
