    Description

Horror of Dracula (Universal International, 1960). Very Fine- on Linen. Italian 4 - Fogli (55" X 77").
Posters for this Hammer classic are always in high demand, but this beautiful Italian 4 - fogli should be at the top of any horror collector's list. Few other images portray Christopher Lee in his first iteration of the undead count with such realistic ferocity, the cracked glass motif adding to the illustration's amazing dramatic effect. Hammer made one of the best decisions in movie history when they re-teamed Peter Cushing and Lee after the success of the 1957 hit The Curse of Frankenstein. With director Terence Fisher at the helm, the studio created what is arguably the best Dracula film that has been made in the past 80 years. Lee, as did Bela Lugosi almost three decades before, fashioned a horror icon for a whole new generation of international movie audiences. This poster looks fantastic after professional corrections to fold wear and separations, pinholes, and to small tears. Still visible in the background is some bleedthrough from writing on the verso. There was some slight chipping in the borders and folds, and the borders have been airbrushed.
