    Description

Horror of Dracula (Universal International, 1958). French Grande (47" X 63").
This superlative poster for this horror classic is a French grande with artwork by Guy Gerard Noel, considered one of the masters in horror poster art. Britain's Hammer Studios was the first to bring Bram Stocker's character, Count Dracula, to the screen in living, blood-red color. Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee were reteamed after Hammer's 1957 hit Curse of Frankenstein, and director Terence Fisher created what is arguably the best Dracula film that has been made in the past eighty years. Lee, as did Bela Lugosi almost three decades before, fashioned a horror icon vampire for a whole new generation of international movie audiences. A gorgeous poster ready to be showcased, it has had excellent restoration to address chips and tears in the woman's dress and folds, paper loss along the right and left edge, and the top left corner has been replaced. Very Good on Linen.
