    Description

Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (Universal, 1943). Folded, Fine+. One Sheet (27" X 41") Karl Godwin Artwork.
Two of the mightiest monsters in the Universal horror franchise met for the first time in this thrill-filled extravaganza, much to the delight of their fans. Bela Lugosi took his turn under the heavy Frankenstein makeup for the first and last time, while Lon Chaney Jr. reprised his role as the lycanthropic Larry Talbot, making this one of the favorite films in this classic series. This was the first of the "team-up" horror films from Universal and was so successful would set the pace for the rest of the decade. Popular among collectors for Karl Godwin's excellent artwork, this one sheet has such signs of use as mild edge wear, fold wear and separation, pinholes, and thin surface scuffs and scratches. Also present are minor edge tears and a tear from the top border into the upper background. There is a vertical series of tears from the top of the image, through the Wolf Man, to Ilona Massey's foot. A few of these tears have minor chips with splices on the verso. Several of the tears and some of the folds have strips and pieces of cellophane and paper tape on the verso with light attempted touchup applied to the front.
