    Dracula (Universal, 1931). Very Fine+. Jumbo Lobby Card (14" X 17").
Jumbo lobby cards for this horror classic are already items of unquestionable rarity, all the more so for this particular example, as it once belonged to the great Bela Lugosi himself. Its highly esteemed provenance starts with the actor, who may have owned it since the release of the film, before being passed down to his heir, and now makes its first appearance on the auction block at Heritage. Since the studio printed a very limited number of these fantastic cards, only a handful of examples have ever surfaced, and are so scarce that we do not know of a full set still in existence. It is also impossible to know what images feature in the full set, as only two of the jumbo lobby cards appear in the pages of the pressbook: the dramatic piece offered here and another showing the undead count looming over a sleeping Francis Dade. This shot of Lugosi with costar Helen Chandler is by far among the best and most iconic images ever put out for the picture, instantly recognized by even the most novice of movie enthusiasts. A prize for sure, not only does this glossy finish card present with extraordinary colors, it is also in excellent condition, showing only slight creases and light surface scuffs, presenting a wonderful opportunity for fans of any genre.
