Asylum by Macario "Mac" Gomez (Paramount, 1973). Very Fine-. Original Spanish Mixed Media Concept Artwork on Illustration Board (9.75" X 12.25").Best known as Mac, Spanish poster artist Macario Gomez created thousands of posters during his prolific career, including illustrations for Moulin Rouge, The Seven Year Itch, El Cid, From Russia With Love, and The Ten Commandments. Mac skillfully captured the fear, shock, dread, repulsion, and obsession experienced by Barbara Parkins, Richard Todd, Sylvia Syms, Peter Cushing, and the rest of the cast in Asylum. The artwork displays such signs of handling as thin surface indentations and a bit of cracking in the paint in the lower left corner. The illustration board shows light edge wear, slight creases, unobtrusive stains and smudges, as well as a few paper lifts. There are ink and graphite notations on the illustration board, which are part of the production process and do not affect the grade.
