    Description

Yojimbo (Toho, 1961). Very Good/Fine. Production Photo Scrapbook (Multiple Pages, 8.25" X 11").
A unique item never before seen at Heritage, this scrapbook contains over 200 vintage silver gelatin, single and double weight, glossy and satin finish, behind-the-scenes photos from the filming of the much-acclaimed Yojimbo. Inside is a photo of the full cast and crew (including director Akira Kurosawa), numerous shots of the sets and their construction, reference photos, and a few scene stills featuring Toshiro Mifune, Tatsuya Nakadai, Seizaburo Kawazu, and Atsushi Watanabe. The scrapbook even includes a labeled schematic showing a birds-eye view of the entire town and a hand drawn diagram detailing the measurements needed for one of the rooms, both created by production designer Yoshiro Muraki, who worked on several other films by Akira Kurosawa. Signs of use include edge and spine wear, spine separations, creasing and rippling, tears, and small chips. There are also some stains, tape stains, and the photos have pieces of cellophane tape on the corners, some of which have come loose. The book is missing its front cover and the pages display some brittleness, particularly at the edges. However, the photos and schematics have clear images and are among the rarest items from one of Kurosawa's best films.
