    Description

The Seven Samurai (Kingsley International, 1955). One Sheet (27" X 41"). First U.S. Release Title: The Magnificent Seven.
Takashi Shimura, Toshiro Mifune, Yoshio Inaba, Seiji Miyaguchi, Minoru Chiaki, Daisuke Kato and Isao Kimura star in director Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece of Japanese cinema. The film was originally released in Japan in 1954 as The Seven Samurai, and was released in the U.S. in 1955 under the title The Magnificent Seven first. This Kingsley International one sheet predates the wider release of the film under its Japanese title. This is the first one sheet featuring this alternate title that we have ever seen, making this a rare find indeed, as the film would later serve as the inspiration for the 1960 Western The Magnificent Seven. There is a horizontal fold in the bottom border, small crossfold separations, an extra vertical fold, a stain in the top border and the word "Best," and light fold wear and wrinkling. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
