    Description

    La Strada (Paramount, 1954). Italian Banner (38.5" X 104").
    Drawing on his own circus background, filmmaker Federico Fellini created his much lauded La Strada in 1954. A rag-tag traveling carnival features Anthony Quinn as the loutish strongman Zampano, whose temper is readily unleashed on Giulietta Masina, his meek girlfriend. Richard Basehart stars as the clown/aerialist who would like to save her from a life of ill treatment, but she refuses to run away with him. This magnificent, original release, country-of-origin banner features artist Enrico De Seta's beautiful images of Quinn imposing his dominance, Masina smiling in clown face, and Basehart "jestering" astride a circus pony. Touchup to the folds, pinholes in the borders, and small chips in the top border. There are small post-restoration tears in the top left corner. This is the first banner that Heritage has presented from the film, and it will be a great attraction in any collection! Fine/Very Fine on Linen.
