    Description

La Strada (Les Films Marceau, 1955). Very Fine on Linen. French Grande (47" X 63") Enrico De Seta Artwork.
Heritage proudly presents for the first time ever this stunning first release French grande bearing the same Enrico De Seta artwork that can be found on the first release Italian 4 - fogli. Italian maestro of the movies, Federico Fellini, put heart and soul into this divisive drama with an ardor above and beyond that of any of his other works. As the famed director himself described, "This film is a complete catalogue of my entire mythological world, a dangerous representation of my identity that was undertaken with no precedent whatsoever." A story so personal that he based the protagonist completely off of his wife and lead actress, Giulietta Masina. He toiled over every aspect of dialog, scenery, and cinematography down to the most minute detail. He pushed his performers with a ferocious perfectionism, demanding an exact realization of his vision and driving their talent to new heights, an experience to which Anthony Quinn would later give effusive gratitude. Winning the first ever Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and in excess of fifty international awards, La Strada was as much a resounding success in America as it was a source of controversy in Italy. Issues addressed by restoration include edge and fold wear, minor border tears, and a few small chips in the folds. The poster also had a tear from the top edge into the "Q" of "Quinn." Some of these signs of usage may be partially addressed, but this does nothing to detract from the fantastic overall presentation of this fine piece. Very Fine on Linen.
