Judex (Svenska, 1921). Fine on Chartex. First Release Swedish One Sheet (22.25" X 35").
As one of the first vigilante heroes to capture the imaginations of audiences around the world, Louis Feuillade's shadow-skulking avenger set the archetype for a new brand of hero still popular today. Judex's hallmark traits can best be seen in later characters like the Shadow and Batman, with such similarities as secret identities, subterranean headquarters, dark swooping costumes, flamboyant villains, and technical gadgetry. Although backed on linen, no touchup has been applied to the poster. There are such signs of usage as slight edge and fold wear, a few fold separations, pinholes, and creases. Also present are minor chips and tears into the interior, which are still braced with strips of paper tape between the poster and the chartex. The chartex has been trimmed to the edge of the poster, but not into the poster itself.
