This Gun for Hire (Paramount, R-1945). One Sheet (27.5" X 41").
This 1945 re-release poster features fantastic art of Veronica Lake and Alan Ladd. When released in 1942, Paramount found themselves with a huge hit on their hands in what would be an early film noir classic. They teamed Lake and Ladd in six more films and, to this day, they are known as the king and queen of noir. With this poster, they have billed Ladd first as he was not on the original posters. This one sheet had 1/2" of paper trimmed from three of its borders, the left border had a 1/4" inch trimmed. The copyright information on the bottom border was left intact. There was some surface paper loss on the verso and chips in the title. The borders have been airbrushed and touchup applied to the folds, resulting in a fine looking poster. Fine on Linen.
