    Description

This Gun for Hire (Paramount, 1942). One Sheet (27" X 41").
As the prevailing standard of film noir gold, This Gun for Hire was the first pairing of Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake, a duo that would become icons of the genre. The film was so popular that both of their careers exploded and the pair became an on-screen team that were featured together in several other pictures. Ladd is sensational as a hit man who seeks revenge against a man who double crossed him, and teams with Lake in an uneasy alliance. This highly acclaimed one sheet prominently features the starlet, on the cusp of super-stardom, staring pointedly out from behind her "peek-a-boo" hairstyle, which would soon became her trademark. Over the years, the one sheet format fo rthis title has remained one of the most sought after in the hobby. Professional restoration has the poster looking top-notch, with touchup to the folds with a small hole in the lower right fold, pinholes in the border, a small tear in the right border, and a tear in the top border that extends into the background. Very Fine on Paper.
