    Description

    The Night of the Hunter (United Artists, 1955). One Sheet (27" X 41").
    The only movie directed by actor Charles Laughton, this nightmarish film noir is a moral story of good versus evil told from the perspective of children. Stating it as his personal favorite, star Robert Mitchum was at the top of his game as a terrifying preacher in search of hidden money stolen by his deceased prison cellmate. Shelley Winters plays the mother of the children, and Lillian Gish delivers a powerful performance as the children's protector. You can just make out Mitchum's knuckle tattoos on this powerful one sheet. Touchup has been applied to the pinholes, folds, light ink stamp bleedthrough in the upper right corner, a small spot above the title, and a couple of minor chips in the lower border. Unaddressed wear includes a mild stain in the lower right corner. Very Fine- on Linen.
