    Description

    Sunset Boulevard (Paramount, 1950). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
Regarded by many as one of the greatest films ever made, Billy Wilder's Sunset Boulevard gained nominations for 11 Academy Awards, and ranks high in the top 100 American films list by AFI. Gloria Swanson enjoys the role of a lifetime as aging silent screen siren Norma Desmond in this gripping film noir thriller, playing her part to the fullest in a tale of madness, obsession, and murder. William Holden gives just as stirring a performance in the role of Joe Gillis, the desperate screenwriter who first becomes Desmond's employee, then her lover, and, finally, her victim. Most of the poster formats for this film share the same graphics, as it's hard to top the image of a seething, maniacal Swanson casting a scorching glare upon young lovers Holden and Nancy Olson. An item as popular as the film itself, this iconic one sheet has had touchup to the folds, pinholes in the corners, a couple of minor border chips, and a small upper crossfold chip in Gloria Swanson's image. Very Fine- on Linen.
