    The Wizard of Oz (MGM, 1939). Folded, Fine. Insert (14" X 36") Al Hirschfeld Artwork.
    No other picture could ever hope to so perfectly capture the whimsy of Frank L. Baum's beloved novel as well as this MGM musical adventure, and it's no surprise why. In between its catchy songs, creative use of Technicolor, and top notch performances by Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, and Bert Lahr, there is little room for improvement. Accordingly, the film's posters are always in demand among collectors, especially such formats as this fantastic insert. Not only does it feature a great lineup of cast portraits, but also some very cleverly-placed caricatures found inside of the title, all done by the great Al Hirschfeld. Professionally restored, the poster once showed slight fold wear, pinholes, and minor tears. The yellow background and borders have been airbrushed, and the poster displays a bit of faint color fading in the faces of the cast. Although unbacked, this poster has had masa paper supports attached to the folds on the verso and will be shipped flat. All in all, it's a fantastic piece perfect for any aficionado of the classics.
