    Description

    The Red Shoes (Eagle Lion, 1949). Italian Photobustas (4) (13" X 19").
These four Italian beauties were inspired by the film version of the classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Anderson. It is the tragic, yet touching story of Victoria Page (Moira Shearer), a young ballerina torn between her love for Julian Craster (Marius Goring), the composer of the Red Shoes ballet, and her passion for her craft. Heritage is pleased to present for the first time not only the four breathtaking photobustas in this lot, but also the equally impressive Italian 2-foglio and 4-foglio appear for the first time in the July 2015 Signature auction. Restoration has addressed pinholes in the right and left background and in all the corners (Moira ballerina image), a chip in the bottom left corner, and pinholes in the corners (Moira and Anton portrait), pinholes in the corners, and a pinhole in the right and left background (Hat), and tiny chips and tears in the bottom border, pinholes in the corners, a tear in the top border (Dancing). Very Fine- on Linen.
