With gorgeous remasters of his films being released into theaters and onto DVD, new audiences have discovered the inventive visuals that characterized his work. A retrospective at Paris' contemporary art museum revived the artistic community's interest in his writing and film work, and Philip Glass has also composed new scores for Orphee as well as this classic adaptation of the Beauty and the Beast story. This Dutch poster from the film is a Heritage first. There are pinholes in the corners, a small tear in the left border, a Dutch censor stamp in the dark background, light horizontal creasing, and light edge wear along the top. Artwork by Adwerner.
