    Description

I Married a Witch (United Artists, 1942). One Sheet (27" X 4O"). Veronica Lake plays a 17th-century witch who burns at the stake, but not before placing a curse on her accuser, Jonathan Wooley (Fredric March), that none of his descendants will ever be happily married. None of them are, as the film takes a hilarious journey down through the centuries, until a fateful day in 1942 when lightning strikes the tree where the witch was executed, freeing her spirit to find Wooley's latest descendent (also played by March), who is a gubernatorial candidate. Some consider this film to be the forerunner of the hit TV series "Bewitched". This linen-mounted one sheet has had minimal restoration done to correct minor crosspoint separation and a small tear or two. There is some toning overall and some light retouching to areas of fold wear. Otherwise, this piece is in great shape It's a really lovely image with great composition. Very Fine+ on Linen. NOTE: tHIS POSTER HAS BEEN TRIMMED TOP AND BOTTOM BORDER BY ONE HALF INCH. IT'S MEASUREMENTS ARE 27" X 40".
