    Description

Bayou (Poor White Trash) (CDA, R-1961). Three Sheets (2) (40" X 71") and (41" X 81") "Notary" Style and Regular. Exploitation.
With one of the most successful moves in film distribution history, producer M.A. Ripps, based in Mobile, Alabama, in 1961 bought back his film from United Artists, added new sex with rape and shock sequences, a great new pre-credit banjo theme song intro and gave BAYOU the effective new title, POOR WHITE TRASH. With the use of a super-hype "Notary" poster campaign, the film played every grind house and drive-in in the US backwards and forwards until at least 1971. With a minimal investment, Ripps made over ten million dollars in a few short years! These two three sheets are an incredible find for one of the most elusive cult favorites. Starring Peter Graves, Lita Milan, Douglas Fowley, Jonathan Haze, Ed Nelson, Timothy Carey. Directed by Harold Daniels. Unrestored posters with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. They may have edge wear with tears, slight paper loss, pinholes, minor stains, and/or some fold separation. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Folded, Fine+.
