Three Friends (Biograph Studios, 1913). Flat Folded, Fine+. One Sheet (28" X 41").
Bursting with bright colors, this stone litho one sheet is the first of any paper Heritage has ever offered for this title. Lionel Barrymore was already a star in the making by the time he appeared in this 1913 film directed by D. W. Griffith, having made almost two dozen appearances in other pictures. With hundreds of short films under his belt, Griffith was also a veteran of the motion picture industry and would soon join Mutual Film to make his most famous feature-length movies. Another of the leading men in Three Friends, Henry B. Walthall, was a mainstay actor for many Griffith films and played the starring role in the director's most controversial and acclaimed picture, The Birth of a Nation. The poster has edge wear, slight fold wear and separation, creases, and pinholes. There are small chips, faint smudges, and tears, including a tear from the bottom border through Henry B. Walthall's shoulder. Also present are pieces of paper tape on the verso. Although originally flat folded, this poster will be shipped rolled.
