    The Ten Commandments (Paramount, 1956). Very Good/Fine. Original Script in Binder (308 Pages), Glossy Publication Page (8.25" X 11"), Mini Poster (16.5" X 11"), & Envelope (9.5" X 4.25").
Cecil B. DeMille's star-studded biblical epic, The Ten Commandments, is a film that made a huge impact upon release, which can still be felt to this day with yearly television airings. The film's staying power can be partially attributed to its cast which includes Charlton Heston, Yul Brenner, Anne Baxter, Edward G. Robinson, Yvonne De Carlo, and many more. Another reason why the film became so beloved is thanks to the story itself. The script, though it does deviate somewhat from its biblical source, contains many undeniably powerful scenes. Offered here for the first time at Heritage is an original script for the film written by Aeneas MacKenzie, Jesse L. Lasky Jr., Jack Gariss, and Frederic M. Frank. Dated March 1, 1955 on the title page, the script's pages are bound in its original three-ring binder. The binder has noticeable wear including smudges, scuffs, stains, some slight rust on the metal binders, and moderate separations where the covers have been repeatedly opened and closed. The pages of the script have creases, slight warping, small tears, some water damage, and staining. The first few interior pages are torn at the binder holes and have come loose from the binder. Included with the script is a glossy publication page with artwork for the film on the front and a printed note from Cecil B. DeMille on the back. Also included is a mini poster featuring a behind-the-scenes photo of a crowd scene being shot, and an envelope from Paramount Pictures with "Cecil B. DeMille's The Ten Commandments" printed towards the bottom. The additional items have smudges, edge wear, stains, subtle toning, and mild creases. The publication page has faint graphite marks in and around the title. The mini poster is completely separated along its horizontal fold, and the fold is braced on the verso with two small pieces of archival tape. The envelope has an ink VistaVision stamp near the return address.
