The Passion Play (N. Morgillo, early 1910s). One Sheet (27.5" X 44"). Drama.
With the popularity of Thomas Edison's production of The Passion Play of Oberammergau in 1898, the subject matter of the life of Christ was filmed many times between 1900-1930s, including this undated version (the lithographer's ink stamp mark is pre-1915). It is also possible that this poster is a re-release of an earlier film. A partially restored stone litho printed poster with a clean overall appearance. It may have general signs of use, such as slight edge wear, and light smudging. Although backed onto linen, no further restoration efforts have been mad. Grades on all restored items are pre-restoration grades. Please see full-color, enlargeable image below for more details. Very Fine- on Linen.
