The Lion and the Mouse (Warner Bros., 1928). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41.25").Heritage is proud to present this one sheet for the third of Warner Brothers' Vitaphone feature films. This early talkie actually premiered in theaters as a silent drama with sound reels sent out a few weeks later. Based on a stage play by Charles Klein, the picture features Mary McAvoy as our supposed "Mouse" who must clear her father's reputation as a federal judge after he is accused of ruling on a case with a conflict of interest. Lionel Barrymore plays the picture's "Lion" as a business mogul attempting to slander McAvoy's father, who is played by movie veteran Alec B. Francis. Corrections have been made to the folds, a chip in the lower left border, a thin scratch, and tears, including a tear that extended from the "E" of "Warner" to May McAvoy's credit. Touchup has been applied to "Warner Bros." as well as May McAvoy and Lionel Barrymore's credits. Still apparent are scattered stains in the borders and a few creases, however these do not detract from the lovely presentation of this stone litho poster.
