Story of a Love Affair (Fincine, 1950). Very Fine on Linen. Italian 2 - Fogli (39.5" X 55") Paolo Tarquini Artwork.
As Michelangelo Antonioni's first full-length feature film, Story of a Love Affair set a tone for the director's career and earned him the Nastro d'Argento Special Sliver Ribbon Award for Human and Stylistic Values. Awarded numerous accolades and nominations, Antonioni is one of three auteurs to win the Palme d'Or, the Golden Lion, and the Golden Bear. However, out of these three highly esteemed directors, he is the only one to take home the Golden Leopard from the Locarno International Film Festival as well. Part mystery and part dramatic thriller, this innovative picture took elements of Italian neorealism and transformed them into a new form of storytelling, influential in the production of many Italian films to come. Touchup has been partially applied to slight edge and fold wear, pinholes, and a small chip in the top border. Artist Paolo Tarquini delivers impressive imagery of stars Massimo Girotti and Lucia Bose. Very Fine on Linen.
