Steve McQueen Owned Script from Baby the Rain Must Fall by Horton Foote (Columbia, 1963). Very Fine+. Leather Bound Script (105 Pages, 8.5" X 11").
From the personal collection of Steve McQueen, Heritage is pleased to offer this original script personally owned by McQueen himself. We have previously auctioned several other of his owned scripts, including Bullitt, The Great Escape, and Le Mans. The Baby the Rain Must Fall script is leather-bound, with the film's title and "Steve McQueen" gold-stamped on the cover, and "1963" gold-stamped on the spine. There are 105 pages of text for this final draft screenplay by Horton Foote, who adapted his 1955 play The Traveling Lady for the film. The script is mimeographed, with yellow and blue revision pages throughout, dated variously between October 16, 1963 and November 12, 1963. This Texas-set drama is one of McQueen's early breakthrough roles, and the actor is joined by Lee Remick playing the young wife of McQueen's ex-con. A rare opportunity to own a one-of-a-kind script from one of Hollywood's greats, the interior pages of this piece are in excellent condition, with the cover showing only light wear.
