Description

Nana (United Artists, 1934). Insert (14" X 36").
Samuel Goldwyn brought Russian-born actress Anna Sten to Hollywood in 1932 hoping she would be the next Greta Garbo. She spent a year learning English before appearing in her first American film, Nana, as a cabaret singer who finds love and tragedy in Paris. The star exudes both of those emotions on this striking, rare insert. A bit of light fading to colors, a "101" written in the bottom border, and a dust shadow along the edges, are the only factors keeping this exceptional piece from grading higher. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
