    Description

Adam Had Four Sons by Charles Bonner (Alfred A. Knopf/Borzoi, 1940). Autographed First Edition Hardcover Book (372 Pages, 5.5" X 8") Original Title: Legacy.
Charles Bonner's Legacy, a novel centering around a wealthy but troubled family during WWI, got itself a Hollywood adaptation with a title change in 1941, starring several of Hollywood's biggest names. This first edition copy of Bonner's story has been inscribed and autographed by several of the film's cast and crew members, including Ingrid Bergman, Susan Hayward, director Gregory Ratoff, Richard Denning, Robert Shaw, Warner Baxter, Fay Wray, Charles Lind, Helen Westley, and Robert J. Schiffer. This book was originally compiled and presented to Phil Schiefer, the popular agent for Warner Baxter.
The item is in good condition, showing a few scuffs on the exterior of the pages and some faint toning on the pastedowns. The edges of the pages are intentionally deckled and do not show edge wear. The dust jacket has mild spine wear, some smudging on the back cover, a small bit of foxing, and a price clip on the left inside flap. Very Fine.
