    Description

Across the Footlights (Universal, 1915). One Sheet (27.5" X 41.25"). Drama.
Starring Adele Lane, William C. Dowlan, Lule Warrenton, and Edward Sloman. Directed by Burton L. King. The director of this short drama is perhaps most remembered for helming two of Harry Houdini's films - The Master Mystery (1920) and The Man from Beyond (1922). This striking Morgan stone litho poster is backed with muslin, as was the practice at the time. Posters were returned with the film to the film exchanges to be used over and over again in other venues. Any fan of silent cinema will be proud to own this gem, as it is an extremely rare example from Universal Pictures' earliest days. An unrestored poster with good color and an overall very presentable appearance. It may show slight edge and fold wear, light fold separation, creases, unobtrusive stains, faint smudges, minor tears - including mild tears and surface scuffs in the title, and a small gouge in the image area, which does not perforate the muslin. Please see full-color, enlargeable image above for more details. Folded, Fine+ on Muslin.
