    A Farewell to Arms (Paramount, 1932). Insert (14" X 36").
    Gary Cooper twice portrayed an Ernest Hemingway protagonist on film, here and a few years later, in For Whom the Bell Tolls. Hemingway may never have been happy with Hollywood's adaptations of his novels, but he thought very well of Cooper. Heritage is offering this rare insert for the first time, and it's not likely to come up for auction again in the near future. Cooper, as an ill-fated WWI soldier, shares a tender portrait with British nurse Helen Hayes. Restoration has this piece displaying nicely, with touchup to folds with small tears (one in Cooper's head), light stains in the bottom section, pinholes in the corners, minor paper loss in the bottom credits, and light color enhancement has been applied due to slight fading. Very Good on Paper.
