Dracula (Universal, 1931). Folded, Very Fine+. Swedish One Sheet (27.75" X 39.5") Eric Rohman Artwork.
Eric Rohman, Sweden's most prolific poster artist during the 1920s and 1930s, lends his angular Art Deco flair to this menacing stone litho piece. Though they had gained notice with their earlier adaptations of The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Phantom of the Opera, Universal became known as the top studio for horror pictures with their production of Bram Stoker's Dracula. Along with popularizing the previously neglected genre, the film made Bela Lugosi an instant movie star as famous as other Universal horror greats like Lon Chaney and Boris Karloff. Only seen once before at Heritage, this fantastic Swedish poster presents very well with bright stone litho colors. It has few indications of handling, showing slight fold wear and separation and very soft vertical creases. It also has a bit of writing bleedthrough in the lower left with surface indentations and a minor amount of ink transfer, but this is barely noticeable.

    Estimate: $6,000 - $12,000.
