    Description

    Dracula (1928). Theater Window Card (14" X 22").
Adapted from Bram Stoker's famous novel, this British stage play by Hamilton Dean made its Broadway debut in 1927 to rave reviews, thanks in no small part to its leading actor. Starring in his first major English-speaking role, Bela Lugosi enthralled audiences with his sophisticated and menacing interpretation of the Count, a performance that would serve him well two years later when auditioning for the role in Tod Browning's seminal film. Hailing from Ford's theatre in Baltimore, Maryland, this stage play window card from the production's national tour features the same iconic artwork from the original Broadway show. The card has been well preserved over the last ninety years, displaying only slight edge war, mild creases, and soft surface scuffs. There is also a small bit of surface paper loss in the "R" of "Dracula." Very Fine.
