    The Big Shot (Warner Brothers, 1948). First Post-War Release Italian 2 - Fogli (39" X 54.5") Luigi Martinati Artwork.
    Released the year after his breakout film The Maltese Falcon and one year before the iconic Casablanca, rising star Humphrey Bogart revives his typecast, but perfected, gangster persona for the last time in The Big Shot. Though not Bogie's most well known starring role, this film came at a time of transition for the actor after finally achieving top billing the in 1941's High Sierra, and just prior to his explosion in popularity that would make him one of the biggest stars in Hollywood history. Boasting an image far superior to any of the American posters with artwork by the talented Luigi Martinati, this excellent first post-war release would be a great addition to any Bogart fan's collection. Professional restoration has applied touchup to the folds, scattered pinholes in the borders and image area, a minor chip in the lower vertical crossfold, and several small horizontal tears in the vertical fold. Very Fine- on Linen.
