    Description

    M (Paramount, 1933). First U.S. Release Window Card (14" X 22").
One of the finest and most important films to come out of Germany, this is the story of a deranged child murderer (Peter Lorre) whose crimes are so heinous that he is hunted both by the police and the criminal underground. Director Fritz Lang reflects the real-life crimes of Peter Kürten, a child killer who was on the loose in Dusseldorf at the time this picture was made. Many consider this to be the high point of Lorre's career, and see this as an important precursor to the film noir genre that Lang would help inaugurate once he emigrated to America in 1934. A rare item indeed, this is the first time Heritage has ever had the pleasure to offer any American paper for this incredible film. The window card looks wonderful after addressing a small tear in the right background, a thin scratch in the "M," and replacing a portion of the area within the upper imprint blank. Still visible are a few slight creases to the lower right, some light edge wear, and faint stains in the background. Fine+.

    Estimate: $1,500 - $3,000.
