Calcutta (Paramount, 1946). Six Sheet (81" X 81"). Alan Ladd stars as a cargo pilot working in the far east and when his partner is found murdered. he investigates the case himself. Ladd's usual co-star Veronica Lake didn't appear in this noir, but was given an able substitute in the form of Gail Russell. All of the posters on this title are quite nice, but this rare six sheet may be the best! There were several small chips in the borders and the lower right corner was torn off at one time. The borders have been airbrushed to correct this. There were several cross-fold points and cross-tears on fold lines that have been in-painted- most noticeably in William Bendix's cheek and the green area above his head. All of these imperfections are relatively minor and do not detract from the overall beauty of this six sheet.
