Marilyn Monroe fans, this is a poster worth waiting for! Making its Heritage debut, it's the exceedingly rare British double crown format from The Seven Year Itch. Billy Wilder directed this amusing tale about the temptations of a middle-aged married man. His troubles begin when he sends his family away for the summer and his overactive imagination goes wild when a delightfully voluptuous blonde (Marilyn Monroe) moves in upstairs. The poster depicts Monroe in her famous "billowing dress" pose, which was apparently a bit too risqué for the Brits. Extra length was painted on to her skirt to cover her thighs, thereby muting the intended effect. Professional restoration, however, has returned the piece to its original glory, and touchup has also been applied to the folds and a small chip in the top right corner. The result is a fabulous and rare poster that will give any Monroe collector huge bragging rights! Fine+ on Linen.
