    Description

The Saturday Night Kid (Paramount, 1929). Fine+ on Linen. One Sheet (27" X 41"). From the Mike Kaplan Collection.
Already desirable for its vibrant portrait of the stunning Clara Bow, this first-time offer from Heritage should be of even greater interest to collectors as it is the only known one sheet to have survived the ninety years since the film's release. Clara Bow's nickname might have been the "It" girl, but she could have just as easily been referred to as the "Saturday Night Kid" for her screen portrayals of the ultimate Party Girl during the roaring '20s. The exciting nightlife scene of the big city can be found in detail on this great stone litho poster, with all of the drinking, music, and dancing America's jazz baby could desire. There have been corrections made to fold wear and separation, pinholes, and tears. Also addressed was some chipping in the folds and borders, in addition to some paper loss on the right side of the upper and lower folds. Still visible is staining at the borders and folds, some of which occurred after linen-backing. Regardless, this one-of-a-kind piece is an excellent collectible with a fantastic image.
