After their huge success with the spooky comedy The Cat and the Canary (1939), Bob Hope and Paulette Goddard followed up with this equally fun old-house mystery. Radio comedian Hope flees New York with his valet (Willie Best) to avoid a murder investigation. On board a cruise ship bound for Cuba, they meet Goddard on her way to claim her inheritance, a large house haunted by zombies. With Hope in the role of brave protector, and great support from Paul Lukas and Anthony Quinn, this was another sure fire hit for the stars. Paper for this comedy rarely comes available and is always popular when it does, especially a complete set of lobby cards. One card has scuffs in the image, a small paper stain in the left border, and a minor tear in the right border. One card has tear at the top with archival tape on the reverse, and staple holes in the corners. The other cards are in remarkably nice condition, with only a few pinholes and minor edge wear, making this an ideal set for the many fans of this hit. Fine/Very Fine.
