    Description

    The Fireman (Mutual, 1916). Folded, Fine/Very Fine. Window Card (14" X 22").
Charlie Chaplin's The Fireman is non-stop slapstick, with the funnyman portraying a dedicated but woefully inadequate member of a small town fire department. The second of his Mutual two-reelers, the film also stars Edna Purviance, a steadfast presence in Chaplin's films and personal life. Original US paper from this film almost never surfaces and this is the first window card we've ever seen! A Heritage's first from the original U.S. release. It's in highly respectable condition for its age and has received no restoration. The card shows only light edge and fold wear, very minor crossfold separations, unobtrusive smudges, and faint writing remnants in the imprint area. None of these issues detract from the crisp vivid colors of the stone litho image and the paper remains very supple, especially considering its age. Folded, Fine/Very Fine.
