    Description

    Sullivan's Travels (Paramount, 1941). Three Sheet (41" X 81").
Disgusted with the fluffy comedies that have made him the hottest director in Hollywood, Joel McCrea (John L. Sullivan) goes undercover as a tramp in middle America, trying to reconnect with everyday folk, in hopes of making a "serious" film. At first the studio tries to pass off this sojourn as a publicity stunt, but McCrea escapes their influence, and eventually hooks up with a down-on-her-luck actress (Veronica Lake at her most luminous). Later, a case of mistaken identity leads the world to believe the great Sullivan is dead. Widely regarded as director Preston Sturges's finest film, this classic film is beautifully represented on this very scarce three sheet. Perhaps the best artwork of any of the paper for this film this lovely three sheet depicts Lake draped over McCrea in a leggy pose and wearing her signature peek-a-boo hairstyle. Prior to restoration, there were pinholes in the corners, with minor fold wear and crossfold separations. Don't miss a fabulous chance to display for yourself this stunning jaw dropper. Very Fine- on Linen.
