    Description

    Sullivan's Travels (Paramount, 1941). One Sheet (27" X 41") Style A.
Disgusted with the fluffy comedies that have made him the hottest director in Hollywood, Joel McCrea goes undercover as a tramp in middle America, trying to reconnect with everyday folk, in hopes of making a "serious" film. At first the studio tries to pass of this sojourn off as a publicity stunt, but McCrea escapes their influence, and eventually hooks up with a down-on-her-luck actress (Veronica Lake at her most luminous). Later, a case of mistaken identity leads the world to believe the great McCrea is dead. Widely regarded as director Preston Sturges's finest film, this alluring one sheet poster is also one of the most coveted titles for Veronica Lake fans, as the beautiful blonde is front and center. The poster had very slight border trimming, pinholes, small tears at the top and on the left side running into the artwork, and a vertical crease on the right side, all of which has been addressed with professional restoration. From the collection of Wade Williams. Very Good/Fine on Linen.
