So This is Paris (Warner Bros., 1926). Fine+ on Cardstock. Window Card (14" X 22").Ernst Lubitsch was a master silent era filmmaker and the most widely imitated comic director of the sound era. This comedy film tells the story of a faithful doctor (Monte Blue) and his wife (Patsy Ruth Miller) who are tempted into having affairs when exposed to a raucous dance team (Lilyan Tashman and Andre Beranger) in Paris. Although there is much suggested in the film, there isn't a single censurable image throughout, which made the movie a favorite of audiences and critics alike. Professional touchup has been applied to mild creases, a few tears into the interior, soft surface wear, and minor chips at the edges. The white borders have been airbrushed, however there are a few lifts and cracks in the touchup, as well as a few faint stains visible at the lower edges. It appears there may have been some slight trimming at the top border, due to the uneven white and blue borders on the card. However, window cards from this time period were often cut by hand, leading to slight discrepancies in height and image alignment. As the card measures nearly 14" X 22" and has a clean upper edge, we believe this could be the reason for the uneven borders.
